She Only Knows Love...

Saturday I had the opportunity to witness a beautiful celebration of a beautiful life. Gracie's time on earth was short but was influencial to many. I don't know how to express into the words the special feelings and spirit that were present as Gracie's aunt and dad eloquently shared personal experiences and recounted the sweet journey that Gracie experienced on this earth. Spiritual truths were spoken of and at times the Spirit almost seemed tangible.
I remember one beautiful spring day last year, the first time I met Gracie. It was supposed to be her last night on this earth as Tom and Michele had decided to remove her from life support the following day. She was absolutely beautiful. Even though she was hidden by cords and tubes covering most of her body, you could feel love radiating from her. She beat the odds and remained here for many more months to bring love, understanding and joy to her family. Isaac told me that he didn't get to know Gracie as well as he would have liked since he only saw her strapped into Michele's car a few times. I told him it was pretty simple, too many germs at our house. Gracie's life was spent at home or at the hospital away from the dangers that her body wasn't able to fight, but nonetheless she has touched many lives. In a day where modern inventions are often used for bad, blogging and the internet have made it possible for friends, family and strangers to all know Gracie and to have followed her journey and mission in this life. Many people who have not felt the Spirit in a long time or maybe have not recognized the Spirit in their lives have been able to be touched by Michele's blog entries of Gracie's triumphs and hardships.
Michele and her family are a true example of love, endurance and the purpose of this life. Keep them in your prayers as the coming days will be full of challenges, change and different opportunities. You can read more about Gracie at www.thegledhillfamily.blogspot.com
Thank you for the sweet post Kristin. You are a good friend.
