Girls U10 - Saying Goodbye
Olivia's 2nd year of Arsenal soccer is in the books and it has been a fantastic year. Olivia has grown and developed SO much as a player and as a sweet young lady over this past year. One of the best parts of her soccer experience this year has been the fantastic players and their family's that we have been able to get to know. These girls are a great group of girls off and on the field. After finishing a strong season we wrapped everything up with a team party on Saturday night. I think this group would have loved to spend the next 8 years playing together but unfortunately Olivia, Faith, and Presley are playing up a year so it is time for them to stay back and play another year at U10 while the other girls move on to a new experience.
Brittney Schmidt (the team mom) hosted a fabulous night that rocked all the way until 11:30 ish. After dinner Brian shared a few of his thoughts regarding this team and the great parents. He also talked about his growing up experiences in soccer and referenced Coach Travis from his youth who was a strong influence for good in his life.
I don't think Brian could have requested a better team mom. Brittney was SO great to get things done and take charge of situations to make things happen. The team put together a well deserved gift for her. I don't know if anybody will be able to match her dedication, organization and great personality. I don't know how many "Brittney cheers" the team made up but they love her!
The team gave Brian the perfect gift! Arsenal gear! I am sure he will get used out of his new outfits with next season starting shortly.
I hope Olivia remembers her experiences as well as the relationships she is able to make through sports. They have had lot's of fun together and they have all grown, developed and increased their talents while being true to their random fun and crazy personalities.
Clearly they get some of their craziness from their mom's!

I remember when Brian first decided to jump in as Olivia's coach when her's quit, he mention that he wasn't sure how it would be to coach little girls. I wasn't worried because he is so great with all youth, girls and boys. It has ended up to be a great match. As a parent to a child on the team, I couldn't ask for a better coach for my girl and I am SO grateful to have her influenced by him and mentored by him as she learns how to compete, work hard and dream big!

Olivia's games were so fun to go to. First, the girls were fantastic on the field and it is no wonder, they have fabulous parents! I couldn't go to all the games because of conflicts with other games but every time I went I loved visiting on the sidelines with the other family's.
