Rome Italy Temple Site and Draper Temple

Below are a few photos of the site for the Rome Italy Temple and the road leading to the site. It's so beautiful there!! Here are a few more details that were shared by the current Rome Mission President:

* The land is made up of 14.8 acres.
* On the deed it is written, “For a building with national significance.”
* The property was purchased during the time that President Flossi served as Mission president (1996-1999). (I was on my mission there during this time.)
* The land is situated just off the large beltway that surrounds Rome (the Grande Raccordo Anulare or GRA) near a large mall and is highly visible to motorists. (Acerson).

The house you can see in the photo was the home to missionaries serving in Rome and is situated on the Temple site property.

We took the kids to the Draper Temple Open House a few weeks ago. It was such a great experience to go inside with our children and see their reverence for the House of the Lord and to answer their questions. Of course the yummy cookies at the church after was a stand out for them but I could see the excitement they had to be able to go inside and have their first experiences there. I am excited to have this experience with them many more times.

  2. What a beautiful site for the Rome Temple. Thanks for the pictures. It would be so incredible for you and Brian to be able to go back and see it. Thanks for the invite to your blog. We keep thinking of going private, but haven't yet. Still thinking...
