A Point!!

Isaac started playing on the Lehi Arsenal Striker Soccer Competition Team this summer. There are about 13 boys on the team including his friend Kenyan from our neighborhood. They have played in 2 tournaments this summer and practiced ALOT! They are practicing 2-3 hours 3 times a week but the practice seems to be paying off! Isaac has been improving and getting better with each game. He has played defense in most games but in this last tournament this

week he played some time at midfield and scored his first goal!! It was pretty exciting especially since he had the perfect chance to score earlier in the game but his attempt was a weak kick right into the keeper's hands. I almost ran out there to examine his head at that point. But only a few minutes later he redeemed himself with a solid kick into the goalie. It was so fun to see him run down the field with the players all hanging on him and patting him on the back. He loved the feeling so hopefully with lot's of hard work and dedication it is a feeling that he will have more often. His team is pretty new to competition play so it will be fun to see them improve their passing and learn how each other plays. In fact, once regular season starts, maybe we will even get a win!! I will keep my fingers crossed!!
