Isaac's Field Trip

Never been to "This Is The Place Park", but always wanted to. So, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go with Isaac and his class on today's field trip. It was GREAT! Someday you will find me there volunteering in my pioneer dress but until then, we had alot of fun.

Isaac was grateful that Olivia came with me when he found that the Virginia Reel was part of the fun. They were cute partners together and had no problem holding hands with each other (everyone else struggled). We also learned about Mountain Men and pioneer school days. Olivia got called up by the teacher to do a bit of arithmetic. How intimidating for a kindergartener in a room full of 4th graders. She held her own and did great.

Before we left we posed with a statue of Israel Barlow (great, great...grandfather)and his wife Elizabeth Haven. We saw an identical statue dedicated a few years ago in Nauvoo. This one was dedicated last September but we were unable to attend. I love pioneer stories and the whole feeling that the past can bring into our hearts. It was a great place on a great day (finally warm weather!!!)
