Yippee! Summer's Here!

Unfortunately it has taken almost all of the month of June to finally feel like summer has arrived. Between adjusting to new schedules, rain, wind and cold weather, it has been so hard to get out and enjoy some fun! Now that we have jumped from 60 to 90 degrees we are having good times. This last week has been great. I LOVE being outside!! We tried a few new things last week off my "summer free' list. First we went up the the Temple Quarry Trail head at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was "officially" closed because of flooding so we just parked a block or so away and walked to the trail. It was a nice and easy walk for the kids. We took our time and read the marker that talked about the area. It was neat to see how far our ancestors had to travel to get rock for the Salt Lake Temple. The next day we visited Highland's splash park. I don't know why we never went there last year. It was SUPER fun. We were there for 3 hours and only left because I had other things I had to do that day. I think we will be there a lot this summer!

On Tuesday after the Temple Quarry we hurried home and got things ready for a bbq with friends. We were able to introduce our kids to Zimba, who was visiting from Uganda. It was fun to have him here. Watching his excitement and joy while he jumped on the trampoline for the first time was priceless
