Let's TRI

Ivory Ridge hosted a junior triathlon on Saturday. Isaac, Ainsley and Olivia decided they would give it a "tri"! The course was pretty short but was the perfect distance for these beginning triathletes.
The race started out with the long "wait" by the pool.

 Isaac had plenty of friends to visit with while waiting. Ainsley just observed those already in the water and Olivia made some new friends and seemed totally oblivious that it was a race.

Once in the water they took off (kinda). I learned that we need some more swimming lessons for everyone. Isaac switched back and forth between the front crawl and the breast stroke. He was stronger with the breast stroke.

Ainsley did an "original" stroke. She did make pretty good time and swam the whole thing.

I guess somebody thought Olivia might drown so they tossed her a swim board. She seemed to like that method. She glided through the water with ease.

From the pool, it was on to the bike. Unfortunately I couldn't photograph them all. The big kids started first so by the time Olivia made it to the bike area, most kids were already on the course.

After the bike, they did a nice little run before crossing the finish line in glory!! Italia and Acacia wanted to participate but instead they earned medals in the "kiddie"area.

Great way to kick off summer!!
